Kingdom Hearts-like battle system or like Tales of Symphonia... real time and actiony but still plenty of RPG elements! The Odin Sphere battle system's pretty good example of this too.

I'm a mixed person, myself- While I enjoy punching things, I like when where's some sort of pattern. Action RPGs sometimes lean to closely to Action Action so having a good mix makes sure it doesn't :3

Patterns are ok, but I really prefer actiony stuff like Kingdom Hearts or Tales of Symphonia. Those rank among my favorite games.

Just because the Wii doesn't support HD graphics doesn't mean it sucks. Doesn't mean the other systems automatically suck, though. All video games rock.
I prefer them turn-based (it's more convenient for me and plus games like Kingdom Hearts feel like real button-mashers after a while) but at the same time performing in real-time. Sort of like a lot of the Final Fantasies so you can't have the monsters just sitting there waiting for you to attack.
Strategy and action. Perfect blend.

I'm a big Final Fantasy fan, so I've become used to the whole random battle system and selection of commands. I can see it being a bit dated, though, which is why I prefer Kingdom Hearts' freedom of being able to see the fights and attack in real-time there and then. However, I don't always favour this system, since I absolutely hate how Final Fantasy XII does things, in which you can see the enemies around, attack them in real time, but with an ATB system (so you have to wait for your attack bar to fill and such). I despise that system. So, I think it depends on how the freedom and battles are implemented into the RPG.

Ke pasa?
Like a mix of traditional and action.
*even though big minus, in XII you can practically make the characters fight the fights automatically*

However, I'm sort of making a game that's sort RPGish.
