I wouldn't really go so far as to say that Igma is in love with Claudia. He's just desperately lonely. He knows Claudia hates him, but it's not like there's very many women on N. Sanity Island to choose from anyways. ^_^
Igma had a crush on Claudia when they were kids, but she never liked him back. The whole magic and monsters theme he has is a major drawback for her. With the skeletal arm and all she see's him as a total freak. Plus he's terrible at flirting so he comes off as just plain annoying.
